The nama Jalan Kubor might be derived from the old cemetery that is still around till this day. The Jalan Kubor Cemetery is one of Singapore’s oldest Muslim cemetery which dated back to the 1820s. It was the burial grounds for the Malay Royalties which was also popular with the Bugis & Banjar merchants and partly reserved for the Aljunied family as well.
