Sultangate Music Festival September 2020

Spawning a New Sound Amidst The Pandemic

Coming together for the love of music, three artistes from two different generations will be spawning a new sound for this year’s 4th Sultangate Music Festival. Guitarists Wan Ahmad, Romey Helven and Blade - each with their own unique style of playing - will be joining forces for the first time to deliver a much anticipated, explosive performance. Most well-known for his intensity, Wan Ahmad is legendary amongst his peers. You could be easily transported to a magical world while listening to him play. Romey, whose stage persona has evolved from gothic to romantic, strikes a sexy, melodious tune which appeals very well with his female fans. He can also switch easily from electric guitar to acoustic, depending on the mood he wants to deliver. Blade, who is Romey’s elder brother, is the most adventurous. He is not afraid to go into any space and can weave through various sounds seamlessly. We are extremely excited to have them helm our festival this year ! Our festival team includes Hawk Chen serving as Technical Director of the production. Hawk has worked with many international artistes over the decades. His experience in handling audio is indeed a bonus. Festival Producer Idrus Rashid, on the other hand, has a wide experience in organising events and concerts in Singapore. Sultangate Music Festival is going on digital platforms in December with most recordings being done over weekend of 20th to 22nd November. Viewers, however, will also have a chance to watch select performances/segments live during these three days via sultangate.sg social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
