North Bridge Road is the busiest road in Kampong Gelam as it is the main road use by motorists and public buses travelling to the city and westwards. This stretch of road is well known locally as well as in the region, thanks to the ever popular Zam Zam Restaurant, Victory Restaurant and Islamic Restaurant. For generations, locals come here to satisfy their craving for Murtabak and Biryani Rice. However, for the past couple of years, we saw more trendy restaurants popping up along the street. Mostly run by young entrepreneurs, these hipster joints include Afterwit, Mother Dough, Working Title and Hash Tag Café.
Apart from F&B establishments, other prominent shops that have been here for decades include Tai Sing Toys and crafts & sewing accessories shop, Sin Hin Chuan Kee.
